December 10, 2018: Christmas Activities

NATIVITY REHEARSAL- WEDNESDAY 19th DECEMBER IN NURSERY (NOT CHURCH)

We would like every child to be able to rehearse together in Nursery. Could parents bring all children to NURSERY at 2pm and collect at 3pm as usual. Costumes not needed.

NATIVITY PERFORMANCE- THURSDAY 20TH DECEMBER at 9.30am

Please bring all children to the church at 9.15am (not to nursery), for a 9.30 start.

They should be in their costumes. If your child is in nursery afterwards, please walk back to nursery with your child, with a change of clothes.

We would like to invite all parents/grandparents/friends to join us for coffee and mince pies in Nursery afterwards. No charge, but all donations will go to the Church. This is a chance to chat to staff and look at our displays. Tickets for our Christmas hampers will be on sale, and will be drawn today.

CHRISTMAS PARTY. FRIDAY 21st DECEMBER 12—2pm

The party is for all our nursery children—those already in nursery during the Friday morning will stay, and all others can be brought at 12 o’clock.   Please collect your child at 2pm.

We are hoping that all the children will be coming to the party. However, if your child will not be attending, please speak to Carole or Wendy, so that we can hand out Christmas crafts earlier.

The theme is CELEBRATIONS-Diwali and Christmas

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Rehearsal for Nursery Nativity — Wednesday 19th December, 1.15/1.30pm in Church for all children. Please collect all children from Church at 2.30pm

Nursery Nativity Performance– Thursday 20th December in church 9.30 am. Followed by mince pies and coffee in Nursery

Nursery Christmas party Friday 21st December 12 to 2pm.

All children welcome. Please collect children at 2pm.

A list asking for party food will be available next month

Bag2School-bags will be available at the beginning of January and collection day is Monday 28th January. Bags are available now if you would like to bring items before Christmas.

All proceeds are used to buy toys/equipment for the nursery

CHRISTMAS HAMPERS

We are having two fund raising Christmas Hampers and would be grateful for donations of seasonal food, drink and other Christmas items, such as crackers, biscuits, mulled wine etc.

Please bring these items into Nursery by the 13th December. Tickets will go on sale 3rd December.

The draws will be made after the Nativity play on the 20th December.

WELLY WEDNESDAYS will continue until the end of November for our older children who start school in September.

Please ensure that your child brings their wellies into nursery and suitable outdoor clothing, ready to go out after snack time.

ACTIVITY CLUB

For nursery children who use Activity Club, please remember that we close at 4pm on Friday 21st December, the last day of term

TERM DATES

The last day of the Autumn Term is Friday 21st December. We return after Christmas on Tuesday 8th January. More Term dates available on the School’s website or from Nursery

 

 

 

 

October 5, 2018: September 2018 Newsletter

Welcome back to nursery. A big thank you for all the gifts and cards we received in July.

The Theme this half term is ALL ABOUT ME/OURSELVES

Term Dates: The first day of October half term is Friday 26th October and we return on Monday 5th November. The last day of the Autumn term is Friday 21st December and after Christmas we return on Tuesday 8th January. More term dates are available from nursery or the School’s website.

Macmillan coffee morning will be held after the Harvest Festival until 11am in the School Hall.

Welly Wednesdays started again on Wednesday 26th September, for all children starting school next September.

Healthy Eating.  Along with school policy we encourage healthy eating for our children who bring their lunches to eat at Nursery. If you would like any ideas/suggestions please speak to a staff member

Reminder that once children become three they can come to Activity Club up to 5.30pm any afternoon. Also we run an Early Bird Club from 8.00am each morning for our three and four year olds

Nursery Nativity will be Thursday 20th December, 9.30am, and the rehearsal is on Wednesday 19th at 1pm.

The THEME this half term is ‘SPRING‘ and ‘NEW LIFE’

We are currently planning sessions in September.

WOLVERLEY CARNIVAL

Saturday 7th July

The theme this year is Nursery Rhymes, and we have decided to have a walking float based around Old Macdonalds Farm.

Children can dress as any farm animal or as farmers or as scarecrows. Times, and more details to follow. Our stall will be a Toy Tombola, and we’ll need donations of new or ‘as good as new’ toys please

Please send children in their wellies and old clothes (that you don’t mind getting dirty), ready to go out after registration

SPORTS DAY AND LEAVERS PRESENTATION on MONDAY 16TH JULY

This year we will have our leavers presentation at 9.15am in nursery for the children leaving for School in September.

Sports day on the playing fields will start at 11am when all the other children and families can join us. Teddy Bears Picnic will follow.

The nursery day will finish after lunch when children can be taken home by their parents. Please note that it is parents’ responsibility to look after their own child during the whole day

NURSERY TRIP

The children that will be starting school in September are going to   ENGINUITY in Ironbridge on Monday 21st May.

The cost per child is £10.00, which covers the cost of the coach. All other costs will be subsidised by the Nursery.

Please bring children at the normal time, the coach will leave at 9.15am and return by 3pm. All children will need a packed lunch.

There is a list to add your child’s name, and all money to be paid by Friday 11th May, please

March 6, 2018: March 2018 Newsletter

The Theme for this half term is SPRING – MOTHERS DAY and EASTER

 

FEE INCREASE

The Nursery Management Committee have decided that from April 2018 fees will be increased to £10 for each session and £4.00 for our wrap around lunchtime care.

This will bring the cost of a full day, 9am to 3pm, to £24.00. and the charge for a

morning session plus lunch will be £14.

This makes our hourly rate £4, in line with other nurseries and government funding.

Activity Club rate will also rise to £4 per hour.

PARENT EVENING and A.G.M.

MONDAY 19th MARCH

Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 19th March in Nursery at 7pm.

This will be an opportunity for parents to talk to their child’s Key Person and look at their Learning Journeys.   You will also be able to see our displays in Nursery.

All parents are welcome, and we are hoping as many parents as possible will come along to support the running of our Nursery. A list will be in the entrance for you to add your name.

Refreshments will be available.

We also have an ’Open Door’ policy and are always available to chat to parents about their child.

March 1, 2018: Nursery Closure

Unfortunately due to the snow Nursery will be closed on Friday 2nd March 2018.

January 19, 2018: January 2018 Newsletter

Happy New Year and Welcome back to Nursery

All the staff would to thank everyone who gave us presents and cards at Christmas, they are greatly appreciated.

The Theme for this half term is   WINTER

The next Bag2school collection is Monday 12th February at 9am. Bags available from Nursery.

If you think nursery may be closed because of snow please listen to BBC Hereford & Worcs on 104.6 FM or look on our website or on the school’s website.

Welly Wednesdays will start again after February half term.

Thank you for supporting our fund raising Christmas hampers , we raised £157.

Term dates:  Half Term in February is Monday 19th to Friday 23rd, inclusive.

Term ends on Thursday 29th March, and we return after the Easter holidays on Monday 16th April, (this is a recent change of date).

December 12, 2017: Nursery closure due to snow

Unfortunately due to the snow Nursery was closed Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th December.  If the forecast is correct Wolverley Primary School are planning to open tomorrow (Wednesday 13th) between 10.00 a.m. and 3.00p.m.  to allow for staff to get in and also to allow for additional risk assessments to take place in the daylight.  We have been asked to follow suit, consequently we will not be able to offer  our usual Early Bird or After School Club. Sorry for any inconvenience.

September 26, 2017: September 2017 Newsletter

The Theme for this half term is AUTUMN

Welly Wednesdays will start again on 27th September and will finish on the 18th October. Please ensure that your child comes into nursery with their wellies and suitable outdoor clothing, ready to go out after registration.

We have a supply of nursery uniforms: £8.50 for Sweat shirts, and £7.00 for Polo shirts.

School gate-Please can parents make sure that the school gate at the top of the slope is properly closed behind them. Thanks

Macmillans Coffee morning will be held in the School hall on Friday 6th October after the Harvest Festival celebrations. Please support this good cause,  a box will be outside the Nursery entrance for donations.

A big thank you to Splinters Flooring for donating and fitting a new floor for our Wendy House.

Term Dates – The last day of this Half Term is Thursday 19th October and the half term holidays start on Friday 20th October and we return on Monday 30th October.
